In Star Wars, the bartender at the Mos Eisley Cantina says “we don’t serve their kind here”, while pointing directly at the camera. This implies that you, the viewer, are the real monster, and you should be ashamed for what you did.
no obviously hes pointing to the camera because the recording is a droid documenting everything
Comic practise with one of my fav scenes! I wanted to make an animatic but I ein’t too good with those, I’m not the greatest with comics either but I sure felt like trying. I learnt a lot, and hope others enjoy the visual adventure that is my struggle fused with the adventure zone.
Also yes I know that the square buildings turn into domes on the way because I frogot that there were a bunch of domes on the moon like a doofus. I would edit it- but uhm. This took like a week (it took way longer than a week because I procrastinated a bunch but you don’t know that so I can say it was a week (wait)) and I’m kinda tired. Maybe later.
Hope y’all have a fun time
Image Description: Wide shot of the Buruaeu of Balance headquarters from The Adventure Zone Balance, at night, everything in shades of blue. Two silhouettes walking the quad.
Pan in. The two silhouettes are Taako and Kravitz. Taako is an elf with a light brown complexion, blue eyes, and blond hair, with a large wizard hat, a blue and gold cape, and what looks like dark red robes or tunic under it. Beside him is Kravitz, a dark-skinned man with red eyes and dreadlocks, wearing a dark purple suit and a dark blue cloak. Taako is talking about something but we can’t hear quite what. Kravitz listens, and then smiles.
“Taako, I want to know,” he asks.
“Yeah?”
“Was this call for business or pleasure?”
“Yeah.”
“I mean–” Taako looks flustered as he tries to backtrack and explain. “It’s a little bit of both? I sure didn’t want to be dragged into hell or whatever it is you do.”
“But I love your style,” Taako says, looking calmer and smoother. “Not crazy about the clammy hands, but–”
Kravitz is looking at him and smiling, before a wisp of red energy catches his attention.
He takes a step, looking around, and is outlined in red, his cloak forming a hood which rises up over his head, scythe appearing in one hand. The flesh disappears from his face, as he transforms into skeletal form. Taako looks on, little hearts near his head.
Kravitz puts a hand to his head, unable to locate the source of the energy. “There’s– there’s something here.”
“I feel it too!” Taako says, totally unaware of why Kravitz transformed.
He turned towards Taako. “It was– not that. This is something bad. I could feel it at Miller’s lab, too. It’s dead, and it’s powerful.”
Taako’s expression turns to one of thought.
“And it’s extremely close,” Kravitz says, raising his scythe. “Are you harboring a dark spirit, Taako? Do you have any suspicions that you might be some sort of a vessel?”
Taako shows Kravitz his Umbrastaff, a red umbrella. “Maybe? I eat old dead dudes with my umbrella, if that’s a possibility?”
“No I don’t think that’s it…” He turns away. “I’ll take a look around…”
“Okay?”
Taako looks on, umbrastaff hefted over his shoulder, and its tip lights up. His arm swings it off his shoulder and points it at Kravitz, the light in the comic shifting to shades of red rather than blue. Taako’s expression turns to one of surprise. He grabs the staff with his other hand, and points it straight up, a blast of red energy rocketing up into the night sky. We see it from over Kravitz’s shoulder as he turns to look at Taako.
the political climate at the time of her death: homophobic
condy, the day she dies: hey she had RELATIONSHIPS with WOMEN of a SALACIOUS NATURE. here at (generic organization) we support FAMILY VALUES.
jade’s accomplishments: ignored and lost to the sans of time
let’s just say that 2000 was a bad time in any timeline
what if the person condesce claims she had an affaire with was an attempted clone like A Claire. like the alpha version of A Claire (though with different genetic material because it would be weird if it was janes or jades)
hc; Jane is infertile. Her 'tree of life' that was supposed to take her to the medium didn't bear any fruit, and I'm sure HIC had said something to Nana about her supposed destiny to marry J harley and have two children that would save the world never coming to fruition. Ah, I was going somewhere with this I promise ^-^;;
adding on to that—bc infertility doesn’t necessarily equate to a fucked up uterus, ie “jane is trans”… (full disclosure, i’m not a trans woman or trans feminine, so if this narrative isnt good please let me know)
i really, really like to read jane crocker as a trans girl, because it adds to her narrative of what SHOULD happen, how she SHOULD feel, and ultimately makes her more interesting to me as a character—jane being trans, because paradox space is weird and doesn’t necessarily keep the DNA of clones as much as it does their souls, and dealing with some kind of cisheteronormative world where she’s also an heiress of a mega corporation is really wild to think about!
which makes me think that if crocker corp was one of the early supporters of jane being jane, it would really make sense that she would be all for it (even if it was more of a marketing ploy on their behalf, just another manipulation tactic to make her feel allegiance). which is really heartbreaking in comparison to the usual “jane is blindly into capitalism” model that i see but HEY. that’s just my school of thought lol
I can see crocker corp funding her transition as shes going through puberty as a marketing stunt like “this company isnt corrupt, look they are pro LGBT so dont look into anything else this corporation does” kind of way. It would also serve to make her rely on crocker corp at a young age and groom her to humanize the company and think its her friend. It would basicall be like corporate twitters on steroids for the specific person
