listen, on their own both sokka and zuko are a weird combination of genius ‘hyper competence’ and ‘blooper reel’ madness, one of them is a budding warrior/scientist/strategist, the other a part time ninja that breaks in/out of impenetrable fortresses on the regular, but put them together you get two dorks that somehow always fall up

I wanted to base the three boys’ designs around the animals they chose as masks for the Petals to the Metal race. Merle as an owl, Magnus a bear, and Taako a mongoose. Still refining the designs (gotta work in Taako’s hat somehow) but they’re getting there!
