Running into this on my dash was like running into an old friend
Thats just what theater kids are like
What I’ve always loved about this bit is
a. this musical number comes completely out of nowhere, with no greater context than what this video captures; and
b. the language instructor clearly can’t hear the music. He’s not from Musical Theatre Land. From his perspective, a couple of twinkle-toed weirdos just randomly decided to physically abuse him for three solid minutes. This isn’t reading anything that’s not intended into the scene – it’s literally the central gag.
@thebibliosphere in case you need some ridiculous Singin’ in the Rain on your dash.
(P.S. I imagined you making the faces at the instructor and it was hilarious)
I can but aspire to the level of expressiveness Cosmo Brown has with his face.
“But what if I can’t afford to hire more employees?”
If you have more customers than your employees can handle and you’re still not making enough, then you need to sort out your finances. Raise prices if necessary.
Your overhead isn’t worth more than your workers’ health.
“And if that’s not enough, then just buy more money!”
Listen. If you cannot afford to pay all your employees a living wage and employ a number of people equal to the workload, then you are bad at business management and should consider exploring other career paths. Such as being a cashier.
y’all might be thinking that small businesses would get the short end here. but the thing is, all the small businesses i’ve ever worked for or been involved with, when they didn’t have enough employees to cover the time, the owner worked it themselves, or they closed early/opened late.
the places that consistently shortstaff are big franchises, especially fast food chains. they prey on desperate workers who can’t afford to say no, and use them up like they’re disposable. it’s disgusting and it should be as illegal as hiring 9 year olds or holding paychecks hostage.
like, if you’re a bomb disposal guy and your team has a cool bomb-disposal robot which you’ve given a cutesy name to, you may hesitate to put that robot in harm’s way, which is NOT OPTIMAL in the bomb-disposing field.
it also doesn’t help if you hold funerals for the robots after they get exploded (this happens pretty regularly).
anyway nobody has worked out how to stop humans from pack-bonding with literally inanimate objects and they probably never will. (like even knowing it’s a problem, I *still* think those EOD robots deserve funerals).
im just gonna leave this here and let someone smarter than me elaborate:
found these on twitter that might be helpful to all rpers who want to make sure their themes and carrds are accessible to all
consider this for themes as well
Many TUMBLR users need to learn this
PSA
if you are doing any kind of design meant to reach large numbers of people, download a colorblindness filter (i use CVSimulator, its pretty simple and free) and use it religiously
Input a hex value for text and background, and INSTANTLY see if your colors have a contrast that can easily be read. This should be a priority if you have a text that you want people to actually read.
AA Large -> works fine for headers/large text
AA -> This is the minimum standard for any body text
AAA->The Most visible, imo the best choice for long texts
Please for the love of everything DON’T DO WHITE TEXT ON YELLOW OR YELLOW TEXT ON WHITE.
Also, do avoid putting paragraphs of text in images, as this makes sites inaccessible to people using screen readers.
I am Silver Tongue, I am an artist. I have many characters and you can check out my art in the art tag. I occasionally practice witchcraft though I don't do anything too complicated. I am girl 2 and don't know what else to put here.
