This is why people with mental disorders have such a hard time getting disability benefits, it’s because of persisting nonsense like “Oh people with (insert disorder here) aren’t disabled lol”.
Disability is having a disorder- physical or otherwise- that causes significant life complications and makes certain activities difficult/impossible. Explain how ADHD doesn’t fall under that umbrella lmao
your explanation of why this is a bad post in the notes makes me think you fundamentally misunderstand ADHD…it is at its core an emotional processing disorder with symptoms and expressions similar to autism. And while in most cases it is categorized as a learning disability, which is a result of capitalistic ideals/expectations projected on to children in school systems, only viewing it through that lens is highly reductive and does a disservice to those struggling.
ADHD isn’t just being hyper, it’s characterized by an inability to self-regulate and executive dysfunction. And while we can speculate whether or not it would impede functioning outside of capitalism, that’s not what I, and others like me are dealing with right now.
And if you can’t comprehend that qualifying for disability is the only way a lot of people (like myself) can afford support like therapy/medication or request accommodations in school then fuck off
