Like, “Hey, this is the only way to do it!” instead of realizing that is one avenue to understand the different rules and such. So we end up having teachers and the like make us do it without tools AND without any understand. See: all the various posts with people shocked about WHY certain things worked and why certain techniques were used.
the rhetoric of “if you use the matierials that make these skills more accessable to the masses then youre invalid” is such classist gatekeeping. Use the materials available. keep creating and keep learning. punch elitists in the face and dont let them stop you from doing what you love just because you use different methods than the “old way”
