There are a lot of valid critiques of the alignment system, sure. But on the other hand, without it, how could I play my amazing twist on a classic character?
Meet Dr Jekyll and Dr Jekyll, a man who takes a magic potion that turns him from an upstanding respectable doctor into an upstanding respectable doctor who fills out paperwork with reckless disregard for proper font guidelines
So I’ve seen “Kravitz spent the ten years the IPRE were on Faerun before the events of TAZ getting repeatedly humiliated by them whenever he tried to bring them in as bounties” and I’ve seen “Kravitz died in Phandalin and is actually fresh off reaper training in Crystal Kingdom”
But has anyone considered tapping the comedic potential of “all the OTHER reapers under RQ have spent a decade getting repeatedly humiliated by the IPRE whenever they try to bring them in as bounties; Kravitz, a recent casualty of Phandalin and a brand new reaper, decides to ignore the time tested wisdom of his new colleagues telling him ‘look just don’t go after these guys, they don’t seem to actually be hurting anyone and you WILL end up eating pavement’ and goes barreling after them first chance he gets only to NOT arrest them and start dating one of them instead”
hottest take but… what if kravitz isnt the first reaper to have fallen in love with taako
Me: astrology is bullshit Aso me: ooo this chart says that if i was a weapon id be a sword hidden inside a cane
y’all, i know most mommy bloggers are usually absolutely vile, and the “wine o’clock” culture is so annoying, but really think about it: why don’t we talk about how alarming it is that mothers feel the need to constantly talk about wine, drink wine, buy trinkets that have quirky sayings about wine, and yet no one is concerned that maybe patriarchal marriage structures are contributing to alcoholism in women? why is it that, if a mommy blogger says she takes shots of tequila to get through her day it would be alarming, but having a wine tumbler that says “mommy juice” or “i wine because my kids whine” (a real thing i have seen online for purchase) isn’t… scary?
i just think we need to have conversations about how the structure of modern motherhood and marriage is maybe super harmful for women? and maybe one solution is to normalize men taking more responsibility in the home and as parents. this goes along with useless husband “jokes” where women chuckle over a bottle or two of wine (!!!) about how their husbands are so clueless and helpless. normalize husbands doing the cooking and dishes. normalize husbands taking part time work in order to care for the kids. it’s not about shifting power from husband to wife, it’s about deconstructing the need for power in the first place.
There’s a woman who comes into my gym regularly who’s like this. There’s a liquor store close by and she always comes in with a bottle of wine from there, works out and then goes home and drinks it. She jokes about it but like…I see her about 4 days a week so like she’s downing an entire bottle of wine in the evening at least 4 times a week. Is that not alcoholism?
Hey, so….. I’m pretty sure that by a combination of gemetics and Rose’s particular interest, amethyst is the closest thing Rose/PD has to a daughter. For me that seriously corresponds with how amethyst has been acting like the older sibling who got out of a toxic household and is trying to support her brother who’s still in it when it came to finding out about Rose/PD. She’s the only gem who just wants to know how Steven feels and prioritizes his emotional state, rather than making it about her (not that Pearl and Garnet didn’t have good reasons).
Amethyst and Steven are so close that they don’t even need to dance to fuse. There has never been a intergem fusion on the show that didn’t involve dancing. Not even stevonnie. I feel like theirs is the unconditional love of siblings, the only people who can understand fully how the other feels.
Amethyst is the only gem that doesn’t initially condescend or doubt Steven’s intuitions, despite the fact that Steven regularly surprises even Garnet and is regularly underestimated by Pearl. She supports him when he questions things, even when she can’t provide an answer.
Amethyst’s relationship with Steven often gets overlooked because she’s the least motherly, but I’m pretty sure that’s why they have such a strong bond. She gets him, and doesn’t treat him like a helpless child. She’s been in his shoes. She’s always gonna have his back.
She’s his sister.
the whole wrestling episode is 100% sibling culture
