“Erasure” isn’t about changing characters’ races. It’s about excluding groups of people who aren’t well represented from something that has no reason to erase them. IE: A movie taking place in America/Europe but only showing white people despite it being somewhere that other races would in fact occupy.
erasure is why theres people who think ancient greece and rome was 100% white and 100% straight
they're acting like anythign different than wonderbread in the middle of a blizzard is white erasure. I wonder what their reaction to domino in deadpool 2 was. Or nick fury in the MCU.
I seriously do not get how race has ANYTHING to do with a character’s personality, unless it has some sort of factor in the way they were raised or their backstory or they very clearly have a cultural background, there is no reason a character can’t be a different race.
reminds me of when people were complaining about miles morale and claming spiderman had to be white with no actual reason as to why other than “thats how its always been in every interpretation”
