the sad thing is that was the perception, but really more than half of my favorite artists are just gone. not all of them even left somewhere else to find them. even artists i didn’t follow, i now see their urls are deactivated on the bottoms of some of their posts that still circulate. maybe it didn’t kill tumblr with the ban, but it sure as fuck killed the artist culture and half the artist population like it was fucking thanos.
that Vox article going around with the memes, about tumblr being bought for nothing, states that Tumblr lost 30% of its users in the 6 months after the ban. So, definitely not just an impression
