You’d be surprised at all the historical figures that are used in anime/manga and otomes. My favorite, of course, being the Hakuoki and The Shinsengumi who were all based on real people. :) Its actually really interesting to read about!

Yokai Watch is a weird franchise to try to get into after a lifetime of Pokémon, I’m used to the plot being “an evil scientist is trying to harness the power of the gods to wipe the earth clean” not “this weird little gremlin is trying to make your parents get a divorce”
