I was today years old when i found out that i was allowed time off to vote. Something no boss has ever told me.

Reblogging now but I’m also scheduling this to post again at the end of October, when folks may need a reminder that they may have right to time off work to vote.

The original lineart in the first picture (Oldest) was done by @dracini, and the coloring and shading was done by me.

Several years later, (about 5 years) Scraps gets to show off alongside his older incarnation.

Thanks @thedenofravenpuff and @silver-tongues-blog for giving me the idea(s) for this picture.

Also a good example of how my art has changed.

“big strong boy / little cute girl”

in Melbourne, 2006

Some interesting info: This is very reminiscent of the Baby X experiments, in which it was discovered that people reacted differently to a baby’s behavior depending on whether or not they believed the baby to be male or female.  People were asked to watch a video of a baby reacting to a startling image (a Jack-in-the-box popping up), and describe the baby’s emotional state.  When people believed the baby to be female, they described the baby as being scared and upset; when they thought the baby was male, they perceived the baby to be angry.  This was very telling, as it showed that literally identical behavior could be construed differently based on the perceived gender of the subject.

(Some radfem who somehow didn’t see the irony added the above comment, so I’m stealing it. They immediately ascribe predatoriness and anger to trans women for stuff they have no problem with in cis women, all because they perceive trans women as males - and vice versa, they ascribe innocence to cis women even in situations where they’ve commited clear wrongs, because of how they perceive their gender.)

the bravest writers are the ones who make granny characters in scifi and fantasy solely for the sake of having grannies i think there needs to be more old ladies who Fight and Kill

not only because i like the concept of badass oldladies and the destruction of the concept that all girl characters have to be sexually appealing to the audience bc thats fucking annoying as shit, there is literally Nothing funnier than the concept of a granny with a massive sword or death laser. she pinches ur cheek lovingly and then saws someone in half. amazing
