his siblings have several animal features like tails and animal feet
and the original books says he has paws while also hinting that “snufkin” isn’t even a personal name, but the name of a species. he’s a snufkin, just like how moomin is a moomin
his biological dad, The Joxter, is described to be very cat-like in the way that he’s super lazy, sleeps all day and even sleeps and sits like a cat. he also has a cousin that’s described to have whiskers and I can’t confirm those are black gloves he’s wearing. he might actually be his own species as well despite having cat qualities
his mom’s side of the family is something else entirely, with his mom, The Mymble, being drawn with antennae sometimes
so until then he’s just a vague creature with animal paws, love for moomins and hatred for private property
so what you’re saying is snufkin is reverse hello kitty
