why is broccoli seen as this universally hated vegetable. broccoli is delicious

Broccoli can be delicious, but when over cooked it’s often unbearably bitter. In addition, children’s developing tastebuds are more sensitive to bitter tastes- this is an evolutionary advantage because it makes our kids less likely to stick bitter poisenous plants in their mouths. So some overcooked broccoli that’s tolerable to an adult may be completely unpalatable to a kid. Being forced to eat it can make people hate it even into adulthood. Additionally, texture eaters and people with sensory sensitivity issues may just dispise the mushy fibrous texture of cooked broccoli.

Basically this makes the range of people who can enjoy broccoli narrower than most foods.

Personally, I like it raw with ranch but I can’t stand it cooked.

narratively, this doesn’t necessarily mean your plan failed, was mechanically bad, or that your character has no ability to engage in what you were attempting; rather, forces outside your control conflict with you dramatically. like if you’re trying to sneak into a palace—it could be coincidence that someone else is also trying to sneak in on the same night and has already alerted the guards, which is why they’re able to find you. your characters don’t fail because they’re incompetent—or they wouldn’t be adventurers in the first place. failures are a chance for narrative complexity, not player punishment

Whoa.

History in the making

Huh, are you saying Trump has managed in a year and a half what the last 11(?) president have failed to do?

Well that’s fucking curious I don’t see his name on this. I don’t think it can be his result

My understanding was that US Foreign policy was something the Office of the President was responsible for setting out and achieving?

If that is correct this would be Trumps success unless this all secretly began under Obama?

This is not an American success. The Secretary of State was appointed either yesterday or the day before, the state department is in shambles. No reports indicate any major US officials being in the room. This is a Korean victory that is independent from the US, and is certainly not a Trump victory, who has done more to escalate tensions between the US and North Korea than the past four previous presidents.

Trump supporters hearing about foreign policy successes not made by the US:
