What makes this infinitely better is that Ryan Coogler (Black Panther’s director) has confirmed that the biggest inspiration for Nakia’s character is Harriet Tubman. Nakia is without a doubt an unsung hero. And I’d argue that she’s okay with that. She does what she does because she knows it is what is right.
