I just saw a harry potter post right before a shape of the water one and my brain auto corrected it to “the snape in the water” and I gave myself a headache from how hard I just mentally recoiled at the thought of it. The AU fic no one wants or needs. Not if they love themselves.

Gimme a minute.

No, stop. What are you doing???

(With SO MANY apologies to Alan Rickman:)

Sometimes an idea appears fully-formed in your head an ya just GOTTA draw the thing or it won’t leav you alone.

The sound I just made was genuinely UNHOLY.

it shouldn’t surprise people that respecting a cat’s boundaries (i.e. ceasing to pet them after they paw at you) helps them trust you more

Bathbomb was dropped off at my apartment very abused and scared he hid in the bathtub for an entire 24hrs. he barely/if ever ate for about a week and didnt begin exploring the apartment until 3 weeks in

it was a month before he came up to me and it was hard but i sat kinda near him every day i would treat him like he was a new cat and let him smell me before trying to pet him and if he even looked uncomfortable id gently stop and just sing or talk to him

now he climbs on my back and jumps on my shoulder if i dont pay attention to him so it takes work and time

cats are like ppl and have triggers and quirks and trauma and we have to be respectful and gentle its not that hard of a concept

this is an Important Post but my favorite part is that your cat’s name is Bathbomb

You know the teacher bought these out of her own pocket as an incentive to protect your children and your president made it so she can’t deduct the cost from her taxes, but Amazon, paid no taxes last year. Just saying.

hot take: hrt, gender therapy and trans surgeries should be free

if cis people don’t have to pay to have a body that doesn’t make them dysphoric, neither should trans people

So by that logic does that mean that I should get anti-depressants and all the other pills for my mental issues for free because the people who don’t suffer from them don’t have to pay to have them?

yes

#so by that logic does that mean [COMPLETELY JUSTIFIABLE AND CORRECT CONCEPT]

First is real, second is photoshopped, people are spreading the second image around as a way to demonize Emma Gonzalez and the March For Our Lives movement. It’s completely fabricated and being used as propaganda by the NRA. Please spread the word ❤️❤️❤️.

I just left my husband alone with our two children for sixteen days. I was not worried about anything regarding the house, their food, or their wellbeing. I put all the appointments in the family calendar and my husband checked it and kept them. I literally did not worry about them. I missed them, and I was sad that they missed me, but I didn’t worry about them AT ALL. I need to impress upon you all that I missed their company, but was not worried for their welfare.

I also did no meal prep. I don’t even think I went shopping right before I left.

This is not about apples and oranges. This isn’t even about my husband. This is about the fact that this is apparently WEIRD.

Another mum at my daughter’s school is leaving for ten days. She’s taking her youngest (who is a very small baby) and leaving her husband with their two girls. She has been cooking for days preparing freezer meals. She’s panicking and deputizing her six year old to remind him how to make school lunches. AND I AM APPALLED.

A) He is definitely not helpless. (He’s a doctor or something.) What gendered bullshit. B) THAT LITTLE GIRL IS NOT OLD ENOUGH TO BE RESPONSIBLE FOR HER AND HER SISTER’S WELLBEING. WHAT THE ACTUAL FUCK. C) Why is she married to this person and creating children with him if he’s this big of an idiot?

While she was laughingly recounting this, the other mums were nodding and smiling sympathetically, like oh yes, I too have my caveman at home!! Such managing required! I was the only one who was like “Dude, he’ll be fine. Literally. He will be fine.” I said it a lot. She was not convinced. She kept bringing up her older daughter. She’ll be like a little mum!

NO.

NO NO NO NO.

NO.

Straight women, don’t do this shit. It’s gross. Don’t infantilize your husbands and then expect your daughters to pick up the slack. So fucking gross. So. So. GROSS.

The fact that so many adults think a six year old girl is more capable of learning and performing basic domestic tasks than a grown-ass man says it all, really.

This stuff is so toxic and awful. I told a car full of women one time that I refused to be in another relationship until I met a man who was capable of making his own doctors’ appointments and washing the dishes. They told me I was going to die alone.

Fuck this shit. Don’t enable men’s incompetence and label it cute.

throughout my entire childhood my mom did all the housework and it’s always been a “joke” that my dad can’t even work the washing machine right and it’s honestly so stupid. men need to be able to take care of themselves and women need to stop enabling this sort of behavior.

ok so I don’t usu reblog this stuff here but last year I had a horrible experience with an Airbnb host who threatened to bust my kneecaps, stalk me and murder me right? And not only did I GO TO THE POLICE before cancelling the reservation, but I also provided copies of that documentation to Airbnb customer service (I should mention after hunting down that number in the depths of the stupid internet and being on hold for an hour). Did they give me a refund for the months I’d paid in advance? No - they accused me of lying!

A few weeks later in a fit of desperation, a coworker suggested I tweet to Airbnb. Ok. I have maybe 30 followers on Twitter, and didn’t really use it at the time, but I thought, fuck it. Nothing to lose now. I made a half assed attempt at an overly indignant tweet with plenty of capitalization, and you know what happened?

Within the HOUR. It was taken down. I was DMed by a CSR. And I was given a FULL. REFUND.

$1500 like THAT.

I don’t know what kind of dystopic fucking reality we live in where police reports mean nothing and the PR value from a half assed tweet to 30 followers outweighs the safety of my kneecaps, but. Social media… Lesson learned, I guess.

Rebooting this addition because holy shit???

PR people work in corporate HQs with actual leverage. Customer service tends to be outsourced to poorly treated, underpaid folks with no power and nothing but stress on their plates. It’s BS but yeah, that’s why things can happen that way.

Because when you complain on social media everyone can see it. You ruin their reputation. It can blow up. You can ruin the business. They’re obligated to care. I’ve skipped complaining anywhere else, I just contact the twitter people now.
