undynes lines indicate that asgore did personally kill them since both papyrus and undyne had orders to take frisk to asgore. i personally interpret the items as thats how far they got before getting captured. The fake knife and bow were likely the first kid after charas death and where toriel made the decision to try and protect kids who fall.
//even that is still iffy though O: //because we see that the soul shatters when we die- which honestly is kind of odd since… they’re out to collect the soul. it doesn’t make sense to shatter it when they kill you. so that’s a whole different can of worms.

thats valid. everyone has their own interpretation. Though all things considered, there would be at least one that never even met flowey since flowey was created after they extracted determination from one of the souls asgore had.
