Common Fire Emblem antagonists:

- the protagonist’s dragon relative
- God, who is a dragon
- the protagonist’s dragon relative, who is also God
Abusive men pave the way for lazy men to get wives and girlfirends.
Lemme clarify, how many times have you heard your overworked female friends and relatives say “Yeah, Jerry drinks beer every evening after work while I cook dinner and clean up after everyone and does the bare minimum to help me raise the kids but he’s such a nice guy. He’s never beat me in my life. I couldn’t ask for a better guy in my life.”
Like no, Sally, your husband is a common stone among turds and you know it.I try to explain this conceptually to people as a thing that happens not saying that this is good but it’s a thing that happens.
This is what male privilege is and how all men benefit from it.
This is why you are not exempt from statements about “all men” even if you are overall good.
You benefit from the bar constantly being lowered by systemic issues within the gender.
The expectations on you are always lower than they should because “at least you’re not X”.
That…is the best response I’ve seen to the “not all men” thing. Thank you.
No some people who have actual service dogs don’t mind them being pet if they’re asked first
There is usually some kind of signal they can give the dog first to show that it is okay for petting, like letting down the handle of a harness for example.
Service Dogs should be given this signal first BEFORE they are pet.
And just because ‘some people’ are okay with it does not mean it’s suddenly okay to do to everyone else. These people who give permission should be making it very clear that it is generally not okay to pet a service dog unless express permission is given to the dog first from the owner. It’s a really terrible issue when people with service animals, fake or otherwise, do not educate people at all when they allow them to pet their animals.
Which brings up comments like
“Can I pet your dog?”
“No the dog is working and can’t be pet.”
“But that other person let me pet their service dog and it was fine!”
People ARGUING with the person who has the service dog brings unneeded pressure and stress. People will get anxiety attacks, even faint if people get too close in their space and will not value their privacy and rights over their own dog being touched or not.
“they” (1 word) is shorter than “he or she” (3 words)
“they” is more inclusive than “he/she”
“themself” flows more naturally than “him or herself”
“they” is less clunky than “(s)he”
it’s time to replace the awkward “she or he”
“hey can you go ask they what does they want for dinner, and when is they coming over to watch movies with they?”
“Hey, can you go ask them what they want for dinner, and when they’re coming over to watch movies?”
Step one is learning how to talk like a human person.
so. many. fucking. people. try to pet my service dog
it’s INFURIATING
and makes me feel the worst anxiety ever which is what she’s with me for to PREVENT
her back says DO NOT TOUCH in huge-ass letters
and “PTSD SERVICE DOG”
but people still try to baby talk her and tell her to come over and try to pet her
and because of her previous owner’s abuse, her training has been fucked up pretty bad
so she easily gets distracted by people reaching out to to her now because she’s super anxious and excitable
and it’s happened so often that I can’t take her with me any more, because she’s learned from these assholes that it’s totally okay to run up and sniff people and try to get pet by people
Now whenever she sees people she tries to run up to them and get attention from them and I always get a small anxiety attack whenever it happens, so now the only thing I can do is keep her at home but my anxiety is at its worst when I’m out in public.People petting my dog and calling to her, not bothering to even ASK, have just denied me something that was really vital to keeping me able to go in public on my own.
I have to save up 1,000 dollars to get her re-trained because people would not fucking leave her alone. So thanks for that.
It’s not some harmless little thing to pet the dog, they are WORKING and if they learn they can get pets while working? They become distracted, which is the exact opposite of what a service animal should be doing.
so yeah. DO. NOT. PET. SERVICE. ANIMALS.How did you get your PTSD service dog certified?
She was already certified when I got her, I just needed to have my therapist give a medical note to recommend a service dog for my condition.
