I seriously do not get how race has ANYTHING to do with a character’s personality, unless it has some sort of factor in the way they were raised or their backstory or they very clearly have a cultural background, there is no reason a character can’t be a different race.

reminds me of when people were complaining about miles morale and claming spiderman had to be white with no actual reason as to why other than “thats how its always been in every interpretation”

Elves are sometimes portrayed as being no better than the other races that they look down on. This has become so common that it’s almost expected. So in your fantasy setting, instead of elves being humans with an inflated ego, gnomes are.
