The bomb dropped on a school bus in Yemen by a Saudi-led coalition warplane was sold to Riyadh by the US, according to reports based on analysis of the debris.
The 9 August attack killed 40 boys aged from six to 11 who were being taken on a school trip. Eleven adults also died. Local authorities said that 79 people were wounded, 56 of them children.
The death toll keeps going up btw this is a specific type of missile that they’re using, they first started using this during the Obama administration, but he put a block on them, during the election the Saudi government donated millions to Trump and when he became president he agreed to sell them 120 billion dollars worth of weapons so that they could up the massacre on the Yemeni people

When Global Affairs Canada announced another aid package to war-torn Yemen in January, it boasted that Ottawa had given a total of $65 million to help ease what the United Nations has called “the worst man-made humanitarian crisis of our time.”
What Justin Trudeau’s government did not mention in its news release is that since 2015, Canada has also approved more than $284 million in exports of Canadian weapons and military goods to the countries bombing Yemen.
“It’s a bit like helping pay for somebody’s crutches after you’ve helped break their legs,” said Cesar Jaramillo, executive director of Project Ploughshares, a research and advocacy organization that studies Canada’s arms trade.
Jaramillo calls Canada’s position “blatantly contradictory,” saying the government can’t claim to be a champion of human rights while arming the world’s worst offenders. “The problem is Canada also wants the sweet multibillion-dollar deals, so it cuts corners on human rights.”
The Canadian government is the seller in some of these transactions. In others, they broker and approve deals for Canadian companies. Government officials could not say whether weapons exported from Canada have been used in Yemen.
im going to bed but one thing i really liked about the d.va short was how it showed how fake a lot of D.VA’s image is, how its used as propaganda by the state to make the citizens feel safer.
In the beginning you have the news saying that in the aftermath of the latest battle all of D.VA’s teammates were trashed but she came out almost completely unharmed. And maybe you almost believe it, because you see that she IS doing fine. But then why is she fixing her mech? Why is she so concerned with their recent close call? Then at the end you see D.VA almost die to stop the omnic attack, having to be rushed to the hospital, and yet the news reports that she “won without a scratch.” Its a simple but effective way of showing how much of D.VA’s image as the flawless super star is manufactured.
The fact that Hana is clearly aware of this and rolls with it shows she understands her role as a propaganda icon too. It’s interesting. Really, getting a glimpse behind the mask at the real Hana, the loner who has trouble reaching out to others and tries to carry the whole world on her shoulders, was the best part of this one. As usual with these shorts it leaves me really interested to see how she’d go from this to (presumably) being a member of Winston’s new Overwatch team.

August 2014 (Coach Steven) to April 2015 (Reformed) was logistically the best time for Steven Universe. While they aired a Stevenbomb half a month after Reformed, that marks the moment the inconsistency began. A bomb in June, a bomb in July, and then it was slapped with a hiatus til August, that was extended to September, consistent weeklies through October, then another hiatus til January, with another Stevenbomb, and then a whopping 4 month hiatus featuring major leaks for Super Watermelon Island (Malachite/Alexandrite fight) and Barn Mates (spoiled Lapis’ return and interaction with Peridot towards the end of the episode, clip ends with her slapping the Roaming Eye to the ground).
Honestly, I was so numb to the hiatus that by the time we reached the worst fucking one in SU’s history–Lars’ Head (May 29, 2017) to Dewey Wins (Nov. 10, 2017 ONLINE and Dec.15 on TV), a whole 5-6 months–I just sort of accepted it. Such is life. End. Less. Suffering.
I can just remember impatiently waiting for free time at school on Fridays so I could check CN’s YouTube channel to see if they uploaded next week’s clip, and it makes me so nostalgic. Like, I specifically remember sitting on the floor of the chorus room on a free day, holding back squeals while watching the clip for Story for Steven on repeat, which was young Greg singing “Like a Comet,” and then it showed Rose clapping in the background. Good times, good times!
