Something in the show: *isn’t fully explained but hinted to be important*
Morons: Wow, this is a plot hole!
Thing in same show: *is later revealed to have an explanation that makes perfect sense when finally revealed*
Morons: …Okay but it’s bad writing to not tell us right away.
cinema sins is meant to be a parody. OP was probably talking about the SU fanbase who were attacking the writers for “dropping” the orb on the moon which came back later and turned out to be a device to view earth
Thor in 4vengers as he’s forced to watch the Avengers have their sixth goddamn civil war while he tries to reverse the snap, save his people, and beat Thanos:
Steve: This is YOUR fault
Tony: No! This is YOUR fault
Thor, who’s whole family and people are still dead:
to be fair, it ultimately is either loki or helas fault. the reason why thanos made his move when he did is because of the disorder in the nine realms and odins disappearance and death (which happened sooner than it should have due to loki) so you can either blame loki for removing odin from the throne early or you can blame hela for ultimately causing the death of odin.
Or u can blame Thanos for like…. killing half the universe
i mean, yeah, but its still important to note the events that lead to it happening in the first place. Also its important to note that thanos also killed plants and animals, effectively halving the resources along with the population so he didnt even solve anything. Everything is exactly the same except theres a lot of dead people
Karkat never really interacted with Davesprite. It must be fixed
Seriously you have no idea how many assholes we deafies run into, how this is a very common experience for us all. At least, the look on their face after I told them that I’m deaf is very priceless. But, sometimes I walk away having no idea that someone yelled at me. :/
((and, yes, comic me is interrupting the comic to play pokemon go.))
This scene still breaks my heart each and every single time I watch it.
Azula was a terrible, horrible person. She would have set the world aflame and laughed over the broken carcass of her brother.
But she was fourteen.
She was so ruined and twisted by her childhood and by her nation, driven to insanity by the expectations placed upon her.
Azula was bad and yet I can’t help but feel so terribly sorry for her.
“I don’t have sob stories like all of you.”
SHE WAS FUCKING FOURTEEN WHAT
“My own mother….thought I was a monster. She was right, of course, but it still hurt.”
actually, i think one of the shows strengths is that they didn’t shy away from what a horrible tragedy this was. even though she was clearly a villain and did unspeakably awful things, this scene was still framed as sad. there was no celebrating- they just look at her sadly.
the music for the battle that leads up to this moment is sad too- it’s an epic battle, visually probably one of the biggest things done in the entire series, and they could have played it with thumping, energetic, dangerous music. but instead it’s quiet and somber. because the whole scenario is heartbreaking, and they know it.
i think the fact that a kid’s show had so much respect for it’s viewers and their ability to understand the complexity of this situation is what makes avatar great.
It’s racial discrimination to treat someone less polite than someone else would be treated in the same circumstances, because of race. We can’t ignore the case of blatant racism. We MUST draw public attention to such cases. We must ensure that racists are identified and socially discredited. There are no reasons or excuses for racism. It’s just disgusting.
When Suh said she would report the action to Airbnb officials, the host replied: “It’s why we have Trump.”
Suh said that comment made her painfully aware of how threatened minorities have become under the Trump administration.
“For me personally, to now have someone say something racist to me and say it’s because of Trump, it was my fears coming true,” Suh said. “That people who held these racist beliefs felt emboldened.”
The host went on to say she would “not allow this country to be told what to do by foreigners.”
Suh is an American citizen who has called the U.S. home since she was 3 years old.
“If this is my experience as a light-skinned Asian woman, what is it like for people who have darker skin than me or are Muslim?” Suh wondered aloud. “What is it like for people who are undocumented or not U.S. citizens yet?”
BLESS HER FOR BEING VOCAL ABOUT THIS DO PEOPLE REALIZE HOW REAL THIS IS YET!?
Ok so i work for Airbnb. And they actually don’t fucking play with discrimination. At all. We were banning people who were going to Charlottesville for the riot. But they can’t do anything unless we are told. And the most common thing i hear is “i don’t want to start a ruckus or cause any trouble” but.. in order to prevent this stuff… we need people to. Don’t stay silent.
Reblogging again for that! ^^^^
Also apparently the host was fined $ 5,000 and was forced to attend a class on Asian Americans, as well as apologize and serve community service. Which is awesome.
Hey, this post may contain sexually explicit content, so we’ve hidden it from public view.
