In “The Break Up Break Down”, Discord explains that leaning against things makes you look cool.
The advice was given to Big Mac specifically to help him seem too cool for love. He wanted to be admired for the way he was leaning because he for some reason just thinks it’s really cool.
In “The Return of Harmony”, Discord’s first appearance, we can see him attempting this method on Celestia.
Almost the entire time he’s talking to her, he’s leaning like a real cool guy. But when he begins talking directly to the six, he stops leaning and stands tall.
He wanted to seem cool to Celestia, but intimidating to the mane six.
theyre both gods. He wants to seem cool to the other gods but as a god he feels that he needs to be higher than mortals. so when around other gods he plays it cool but around mortals he wants to be imposing. Lesson here is that discord is the god of posers
