A Pizza With The Yolk Still Intact

Most pizza fans don’t realize that they’re only eating the “whites” of the pizza. Pizza yolks are almost always separated out before cooking but one daring pizzeria in Poughkeepsie is willing to serve the full pizza with the yolk intact.

The pizza yolk, when cooked, is a firm sphere said to taste strongly of truffles or mold, hence its rarity in cooked pizzas. But Paul Pierce of Paul’s Poughkeepsie Pizzeria claims it’s time for the yolk to make a return. “It’s a matter of taste, literally,” says Paul, “With more and more bizarre toppings we thought, ‘why not just keep the yolk inside?’ and so far it’s been very popular.

Paul Pierce’s popular peculiarly prepared Poughkeepsie Pizzeria pizzas prove perfectly that for the daring culinary scientist, experimentation still pays off. We here at FIJMU enjoyed a yolk-in pizza during the interview, and while not all of us enjoyed the strange meal, those who liked the yolk literally “ate it up.”

Sadly both died of bowel obstructions within an hour and Paul Pierce was arrested, pizza yolks having been banned legally by the FDA since 1774.

I work at dominos. i can confirm this.
