So you know, there’s hype for the game to drop next week, or at least an announcement about the official date to release, maybe with a final trailer! Sweet. So if it’s on Wednesday? It will drop on 8/30. And I was like, oh well that has no major significance number-wise from anything we’ve seen.

The first glimpse of this was in the elevator in the Goldcliffe Trust when they work together to climb the rope. This was the first time we really saw them all work together like this. This was the first time we saw them protect and help each other.
We’ve got the actual arms outstretched scene which was so powerful holy shit. I can’t ever get over this scene. Everything. “here’s a fucking idea for you”. taako going for magnus’ soul. that fucking nat 20 strength check from taako. the MUSIC. MERLE FUCKING USING HIS SOULWOOD ARM TO GRAB ONTO THEM BOTH.
(BONUS: We’ve got Merle reaching for John as he sinks into the floor. the unintended embrace as merle tries to hold onto john. the first contact john had in centuries, with john’s final breath he tells merle how to defeat him. how to defeat the thing he created and spent centuries building around him)
And we’ve got the finale. taako almost getting blown away with his own spell and magnus and Merle just hold onto him. taako pulling out the immovable rod “IM NOT GOING FUCKING ANYWHERE” GRIFFIN USING THE ARMS OUTSTRETCHED SONG AGAIN FUCK ME UP GRIFF. the bonds thread them together. thousands of bonds. a century of running from the hunger together. a year of fighting side by side to find the relics. the bonds tying them all together with their memories.

So Angus’s glasses are canon now! This one actually joins the ranks of Jenkin’s red suit jacket. He was never described to have one in Rockport Limited, but his duplicate in Suffering Game was!
You know, I think most of us had the impression that something awful must have happened on John’s world to unite the people under a nihilist mindset.
Something awful happened to Faerûn, too. And it would have been easy to look at what was lost and despair, but the people of that world didn’t. They focused on rebuilding and unity and hope. That made all the difference.
Our choices about how to react to difficulty, pain, and overwhelming odds are incredibly important.
