Why is it always ‘queer people are projecting their identities onto characters’ and never ‘straight people are presuming that their identity is the default’?
movies/tv shows almost always reduce female characters to a love interest or have them serve a male character’s narrative and not their own, so i’m really grateful for brookyln nine nine for this
if you feel safe enough to go then please do, but also try to bring stuff like first aid kits and stuff if it comes down to it. i hear the proud boys are expected to be there, so avoid men in black polo shirts and stay safe
