A Tale From My Youth

pembrokewkorgi:

I remember when I was kid we were asked what our favorite colors were.  I said “red” and some other kid said that was a girly color, and I responded with “IT’S NOT GIRLY! IT’S THE COLOR OF BLOOD, MOTHER FUCKER!”, I was then sent to the principal’s office… was totally worth it.

“cracking open a cold one with the boys” is a good meme bc it’s very pure. no unnecessary hostility… no in your face sexuality… even when violent imagery is used it’s downplayed, arguably even subverted, as it is solely a metaphor for the time honored pursuit of getting together with the boys for some cold ones

it’s also the only good heterosexual-coded meme for similar reasons.

it doesnt have to be heterosexual-coded if the boys are all in a healthy polyamorous relationship with the cracker-opener-of-cold-ones

I like the way you think. cracking open cold ones is gay now

movie tropes that will never get old to me:

  • a thing happens + two people exchanging money in the back
  • fourth wall breaking
  • “give up all your weapons” and that one guy that spends the entire evening taking his weights worth out his pockets
  • *a terribly loud crash* meowing/ car sirens heard offscreen
  • alternatively: a terribly loud crash and one of the characters going “oops” in the most casual voice
  • “fuck you” “well if you insist”
  • person flys off screen and followed by loud crashing and breaking glass and then the character says “i’m okay” while still off screen
  • person says “don’t make a mess” and leaves for a second before coming back because they forgot their keys and the place is completely trashed
  • people doing amazing stunts in slow motion only to botch it up, still in slow motion, at the last moment

all public school anti-bullying activism is extremely transparent and meaningless

faculty: BULLYING IS BAD!! ZERO TOLERANCE POLICY!! THIS IS A HATE FREE ZONE!!

me: hey this person called me a stupid dyke today

faculty: hmm that’s unfortunate. have you tried perhaps, not being gay?

The production team for The Prince of Egypt conferred with roughly 600 religious experts to make the film as accurate as possible.

I’m pretty sure I heard somewhere that The Prince of Egypt is actually the only Exodus-inspired movie to get approval from leaders of all three of the major religions that share the story- Judaism, Christianity, and Islam.

Well damn

From Wikipedia:

“Because DreamWorks was concerned about theological accuracy, Jeffrey Katzenberg decided to call in Biblical scholars, Christian, Jewish and Muslim theologians, and Arab American leaders to help his film be more accurate and faithful to the original story. After previewing the developing film, all these leaders noted that the studio executives listened and responded to their ideas, and praised the studio for reaching out for comment from outside sources.[6]”

Take notes Hollywood

one of the greatest movies of all time & one of my personal faves, act like you know!!!!

Reason #243481947 why this is an incredible movie.

I also wanna add that one of the pastors from my childhood church was brought on board with others to figure out “What God sounds like”
