Loki is bound to asgard through a blood oath with Odin, and is considered his equal (which is something most depictions of him forget) until he causes Baldr’s death.
This chart forgets a few things though: such as Freya’s children (which are either fathered by Odin or Thor, even though she’s married to Oðr; the fact that it isn’t known if Jörð and Fjörgynn are separate entities at all or if Frigg and Thor are siblings (and Odin’s children); it doesn’t list Loki’s two asgardian sons with his wife Sygin who does her best to relieve him of the eternal torture Skadi condemned him to for Baldr’s death.
Fun fact, Forseti, Baldr’s son, was said to be the most just and fair (in personality, not in beauty like his father) of all the aesir (asgardians), so while Odin was their ruler, he was essentially the head of their entire law system.
His name is the title given to the president of Iceland, or the “Forseti” of Iceland, from when we got out from under the dane’s rule and still to this day.
