#captain raymond holt #ending homophobia like nobody’s business
ok but the context here is amazing!
holt and jake stage a fight. when the cop just stands there, they escalate it to force the policeman to break it up. the cop just cheers them on. so jake gets the amazing idea for this rly awkward kiss. THATS when the cop who didn’t give a crap about two prisoners beating each other bloody, got all upset and rushes in there to separate them.
this scene felt wayy too plausible. it’s comedic commentary on a culture that doesn’t care what two men do to one another (we’ll cheer them on even) long as it’s violent. We think brutal death is totally appropriate for kids movies, but two boy’s holding hands?? inadmissible. girl’s falling in love? unsupportable.
The thing that gets me about Azula is the whole purpose of her leaving the fire nation in the first place was to retrieve Zuko and Iroh, which she did, but she also decided to just conquer all of Ba Sing Se while she was already out.
“Well… I’m already IN Ba Sing Se, I might as well conquer it.”
Azula may be evil, but if my girl ain’t efficient as hell
