This is a species of Nemertean/ribbon worm, a predatory marine worm that hunts by everting a long, branchy, sticky, venomous proboscis to capture its prey. Apparently they are very fragile and may fall apart into chunks when handled or removed from the water, so this is likely a single individual in the throes of death, and all the little “tongues” are portions of its body that have fallen off and are still wriggling.

The guy who is actually Owl City, Adam Young, wasn’t the one who pleaded guilty.

It was Daniel Jorgensen who used to tour with Owl City. Its kind of unclear exactly what he did on tour other than be a musician because most of the articles are clickbaity.

I’m pretty sure they just put Owl City into the headlines to get traffic rather than Young being actually culpable for anything.

Fun fact: despite the pop cultural depiction, “Pestilence” isn’t one of the horsemen in the Bible. Originally, it was *Conquest,* War, Famine and Death. I guess it got changed because Conquest and War were too similar.

So if we included Pestilence AND the original four, we’d have Pixels as Conquest, Foodfight as War, Sausage Party as Pestilence, Tom & Jerry Wilyly Wonka as Famine, and finally the Emoji Movie as Death.
