People don’t like hearing the truth because it breaks the fantasy they’ve built for themself where everything is fine and everyone loves them and they are the best at everything.
If you are a true friend to someone, you will tell them the truth no matter how hard it hurts because people can’t get better until they learn to accept reality and adapt to it rather than reject it completely.
