this is the history of the “Best Hip Hop Artist” Category at the People’s Choice Awards. Nicki Minaj is literally the only POC to ever win this category, and she won it the only time there wasn’t a white nominee. Just confirming for you, that the People’s Choice Awards are actual garbage.
Racism “doesn’t exist” but black excellence isn’t even recognized in a primarily black musical genre that has a black origin and is historically characterized by black people? Yeah, ok.
Also, an openly mega racist won the 2015 award.
