"Feminists are taking over Ghostbusters!", men say. "They’re ruining our childhood!"

Meanwhile little girls everywhere can no longer safely Google My Little Pony.

First off, the new movie has absolutely nothing in common with the original franchise besides the name, hence negating the need to call it Ghostbusters for any reason other than to cash in on a pre-existing fan base.  It’s a gimmick, and nothing more.  There’s also the fact that the man who created the franchise FUCKING DIED LESS THAN A YEAR AGO.

Secondly, your other statement here is bullshit for many reasons.  For starters, there are places specifically made to house adult content.  Those places have filters enabled that a person needs to become a member of the site if they even want to be able to disable them.  Tumblr, too, has the option for blogs to mark themselves as NSFW, thus preventing any content originating from that blog from showing up in a Google Safe Search.  And if you think this is behavior specific to males, I have some bad news for you, sweetie:  A lot of the people that produce adult content in the pony fandom are women.  This also isn’t a gender-exclusive behavior to begin with.  I defy you to look up Transformers on this site, and somehow NOT stumble upon giant robot porn drawn by women.

The MLP:FiM fandom also started its own project to make sure that Google Safe Search is as safe as the name would imply.

Also, any parent that is letting their little girl on the internet unsupervised in the first place is a terrible excuse for a parent.  If you think fan art is the worst thing a child could come across, go type in “Budd Dwyer suicide” into Google, and take note of how many videos pop up of a man graphically blowing his own brains out at a live press conference.  Hell, I typed the word “sybian” into Google because I actually didn’t know what one was, and links to Redtube were the first things to pop up.

For someone who apparently claims to be supporting gender equality, you sure as fuck don’t show it.

Sincerely,

A woman who no longer wishes to associate with the label of “feminist” because of how badly it’s been tarnished by people like you.
