It occurred to me that the temple is actually a sculpture of the 4-way fusion of Garnet, Amethyst, Pearl and Rose Quartz (and it’s potentially life-size). It has: 

• Upper-and-lower faces like Alexandrite had, 4 pairs of hands 
• Opal’s gem on the forehead 
• Amethyst’s gem on the chest 
• Garnet’s gems (it would have a pair if the right hand weren’t broken off)
• Rose Quartz’s on the stomach that was later on covered up by the house as seen in the backgrounds of Lion 3: straight to video
• The roses in the statue’s hair are the real giveaway though

This has probably been figured out before, but I just saw it now and wanted to share because it’s still pretty cool.

(And 10 bucks says that if you activate all the gems on the statue it unlocks a secret area inside the temple. Calling it now.)
