School logic. You protect yourself and others and get punished because you choose to act rather than be silent and let them do whatever they want. Its the policy they have for everything, from bullying to this.

Yeah this reminds me of one time when I was in the 5th grade.
Two of the boys in my class were fighting, like actually getting physical. And this was before class started for the day, we were instructed to stand outside and not enter the room until the teacher let us in.
But these two idiots were fighting and the rest of the kids were gathered around them and encouraging the fight.
I went into the room and got my teacher, who was pissed but not for the reasons I thought she was.
Those two got an in-school suspension for fighting and the teacher pulled me aside and told me that I should’ve just let it happen until she was done grading everyone’s homework rather than disobey and enter the room to disturb her.
I thought I’d done something good, but instead I was told to let violence happen.
fuck americas shitty schools system. go slap anyone who thinks that it actually works.

My brother literally got in trouble for telling the teacher that this kid kicked the crap out of him in the hallway. The kid didn’t get in trouble.

It’s to condition us into letting bad shit happen to us without complaining. Luckily, due to social media, that conditioning is becoming more obvious and more people are acting against it.
It’s the same kind of conditioning that would have us turn a blind eye to stuff like Ferguson and other things.
