Stop validating Benedict Cumberbatch for playing autistic coded roles while being grossly and aggressively ableist against actual autistic people. Stop allowing Benedict Cumberbatch to co-opt autism for his own gain while denying the inherent worth of autistic people. Stop letting Benedict Cumberbatch deny the experiences and the opinions of autistic people in order to absolve himself of the responsibility of appropriately and respectfully exploring the place autism occupies in media.
He literally said that he based his playing of Frankensteins Monster off of autistic people.
And that he hopes bad people become disabled or mentally ill so that they are a “burden to others”.
He’s the grossest ableist and has done so many terrible ableist things. Please don’t let him play us.
