400 points to anyone who can justify the existence of those road loop things Sonic runs through from an in universe perspective.
Road loop things are cool and the place is run by a guy who turns things into robots for fun.
Sega has a hard-on for loops.
It’s like an extreme road bump.
During the war against robotnic, the rebels can all run fast enough to go through them but the robots that would chase them would be unable to detect the loops and crash. That and some of the loops are formed in nature by trees and rocks.
