me: she’s confirmed XXL and her arms are really clearly fat
fatphobes: NO UM FROM CERTAIN ANGLES SHE–
me: she has a roll when she bends over
fatphobes: *panicked screaming*
me: there is 0% chance she doesn’t have cellulite
fatphobes: *flesh melts off their faces like in raiders of the lost arc*
I couldn’t but think about this a lot.
Now, nerd being nerd, Rose having cellulite may not be at ‘0%’, seeing as Gems don’t have the same kind of body issues as humans do. They don’t get sick, they don’t get lasting bodily harm (asides from gems cracking, unless Steven spits on you) And they kinda seem to never die unless they get seriously hurt. So Rose just naturally getting cellulite over time doesn’t make too much sense to me.
But. She does seem to have a fascination with the humans. And giving up her body to have Steven- a half human btw- is a HUGE choice. And seeing as she met Greg when he was young, this wasn’t a rushed decision.
So I can see her wanting to explore every single little thing about humans, and things that could happen to her son.
I can see her asking about scars and wrinkles and all that good stuff. If/when she got pregnant with Steve, I can see her talking with other expecting moms and learning about stretch marks- and maybe morphing her skin just a little to see what it’d be like to have them.
And I can see her saying how beautiful all those little marks are, and how she wish she had some on her with out her having to will them there.
Also, the gems can shapeshift and be what body they are most comfortable with. rose was comfortable being fat. She CHOSE to be fat. And you know what? She is very beautiful. She is fat AND beautiful AND well respected.
That’s why it’s important that she needs to be drawn fat. Because these days, people tend to think fat is synonymous with ugly and that is not true in the slightest.
