If people complained about characters overreacting and doing stupid things all the time then we'd be hearing a lot more complaints about the time Fluttershy kidnapped Princess Celestia's pet bird. Calm down people, it's like you're all looking for something to hate.

I think Ponies has just gotten to the point where people are looking to hate just to hate. Cause yeah, that’s a perfect example of Season 1 being over-the-top cartoony.
They’re nostalgic for a time when ponies wasn’t “stupid” even though that really wasn’t ever the case. We all liked colorful cartoon horses that made us feel good and that is why I still watch the show. (That and I’m a big EQGs fan and I want to see how Season 5 effects Friendship Games)
This one is actually believable. Rainbow dash is frantic in trying to “save” tank, her first and only pet. She’s willing to do anything. And the crying at the end was the most genuine crying I’ve seen in a cartoon.
