I love and respect the Dreamworks company and Home is one of my favorite movies. But Tip is too important of a character to be swept under the rug like she has been. She is currently the only black girl to ever be the star of a cgi film, and she’s been completely left out of posters and advertisements, even taking a back seat to her own pet cat. Yes, Oh is a sweet character, but Tip is also a hero deserves to be treated as one.

Please. Help get the word out.  At least Let Tip be featured on the cover of her own DVD. We need to let Dreamworks or the advertising people or somebody know that we want to see her!!  Is anyone with me?

#whereistip

(And Thank you to Kandymation for starting the hashtag and making posts about this!)

They’ve been pushing her back long enough in all the marketing and products. Enough is enough.

Again, yes, I still love and appreciate dreamworksanimation. But I just can not wrap my head around the fact that they actually are excusing her from the cover of her own movie. Even Adam Rex was upset and saddened by this! If that doesn’t hint at that it’s a problem I don’t know what is.

WHY foxmovies?? (Since yall the ones in charge for their marketing..) What in the world makes you think this is totally fine!? What are you so afraid of? That putting Tip on there will effect sales THAT badly?? (if anything, I think it’d raise sales!) Rihanna is a large part of the reason this movie was so successful in the first place! For ya’ll not to put the character she played on the cover is ridiculous.

Fun fact: When it comes to marketing, most companies seem to be stuck in the 1940s even if everything else about the work is progressive.

“The doll won’t sell. Make her white.”
“Uh, sir, everyone who watches the show knows that she’s black.”
“Yes, but say that someone is walking down the aisle and picks up a random toy. They’re statistically more likely to pick a white doll.”
“So you’d rather market to random strangers than the fans?”
“Can’t argue with statistics.”

I’m not kidding, this seems to be the way every single marketing department, no matter the medium works.
