I’m all excited because one of my meatspace autistic friends is doing an Elementary rewatch with me, and I look forward to discussing

formal and pedantic speech

echolalia

deficits in understanding and use of nonverbal communication

idiosyncratic or metaphorical language

repetitive hand movements

stereotyped or complex whole body movements

abnormalities of posture including toe walking and full body posturing

intense body tensing

unusual facial grimacing

deficits in developing and maintaining relationships

Perseverative or repetitive action/play/behavior

lining up objects

hypo (under)-reaction to physical discomfort or pain

overreaction to trivial changes

ritualized patterns of verbal or nonverbal behavior

highly restricted, fixated interests that are abnormal in intensity or focus

close visual inspection of objects or self for no clear purpose

looking at objects or people out of the corner of the eye

licking or sniffing objects

preoccupation with texture or touch

inability to understand humor

excessive resistance to change; difficulty with transitions

focus on the same few objects, topics, or activities

Elementary is probably the best sherlock holmes series to come out in the last ten years or so.

I mean, the RDJ movies are pretty good but elementary is still better.
