Congrats my fellow gamers, we
have won. How did this come to fruition? Because we used the truth and
the truth is unassailable.
The Escapist, Eurogamer, and even IGN (yes that IGN) have updated their ethics policies.
The FTC is updating its policies on disclosing affiliate links/native advertisements.
Games Journalism has actually become more diverse. What with Lizf620 writing for the escapist, and more diverse gaming youtubers getting a lager audience.
Is it possible? Did gamers actually manage to push back against Anita Sarkeesian and the feminist crowd that were invading their hobby?
I really hope this actually means it was successful.
I hope to hear Sarkeesian has had a downfall as well.
Finally a victory!
I feel like it’s not over yet, I won’t celebrate just yet incase something bad happens.
Damn it girl quit being such a negative nancy.
I need anita to fall
It’s not over yet. These are wonderful small victories, but we haven’t won yet. We haven’t won until this bullshit is not in our industry. We achieved our original goal, yes. But we grew to be more than just “ethics in games journalism”. We have more to fight for. Back to work, GG. We have a job to do.
Just check Wikipedia. We’re still listed as the bad guys.
Of course, check out the Wikipedia article for feminism in general. Only popular opinions are allowed on Wikipedia, which is what makes it an unreliable source.
It’s not even just Wikipedia. ABC actively deleted all comments left by women supporting GamerGate on their video interview with Sarkeesian. The media is actively silencing women under the guise of “supporting” us. As far as the media is concerned, people like me do not exist.
The media does not want to tell the real story, because the real story will cause people to have to think twice about what they believe.
These victories are big, yet we still have a long way to go.
