Yes, I know this blog is about women the film industry, but it applies to me as well because of the transphobia and sexism I am targeted by.

One of my film teachers saw a short film wrote, edited, directed, and filmed myself, and said that only “Real Men” could write and direct good films. He then proceeded to tell me that I needed to act like “the girl I was born as” and “go join the hair and makeup crew.”

He also said I would never make it in film.
