It’s what happened to xkit guy. That’s why he left us. Because tumblr community failed him more than tumblr staff did.

A lot of people were on his side. It’s because one person went to some callout blog and said xkit guy raped her but didn’t provide any evidence. The submission got past the mods but they deleted it shortly after. however, it was enough for the rumor to get started. A bunch of people were like “give us proof before we believe it” but others were like “hey, most rape doesn’t have evidence and asking is victim blaming and sympathizing with rapists”
Even real victims of rape were asking for proof but they were shut down because “they were too traumatized to thing properly”
either way, the girl who said he raped her didn’t have proof, most people know it’s a hoax but that didn’t stop the harassment to him and as far as I know, he left.
