as pride season rolls around let me remind fellow het-partnered bisexual people:

Pride really isn’t for you, so don’t act like you deserve to be there as much lesbians and gay men. Really, just don’t go at all, because there are no resources there that are for you. what are you proud of? being in the relationship literally everyone expects you to be in and that introduces no actual oppression into your life?

but at the very least, if you must go (and god knows hell nor high water will stop you) please, please, please

don’t

bring

your

het

 partner

THANK YOU.

This just in- Bisexuals not welcome at Pride. I guess I’ve been reading LGBT wrong this entire time.

There’s a B in LGBT.

There’s a B in LGBT.

There’s a B in LGBT.

Bi people should not feel obligated to be in queer relationships to fit in your narrow mind. They do NOT need to be in same sex relationships to be or feel validated. Just as you expect people to respect and tolerate you and your being, the same can go the other way. Respect bisexual people who are only being themselves. They are still valid, they still deserve respect, and after reading this, they seem to need pride a bit more than you because they are denied on both fronts.

To bi people, you are valid. You deserve pride. Bring your partner with you. Celebrate you. If people in your LGBT community shun and deny you, they don’t deserve your presence. Stay fabulous.

This makes me mad every time. People are there for support regardless, and all people can do is say ‘Sorry, you’re not gay enough, leeeaaaave’

Honestly…

Biphobia is real. How can the lgbt+ community expect to be taken seriously if they don’t even treat fellow lgbt+ members with respect. There’s more to lgbt+ than l and g.
