friendly reminder that while you can now gay marry in any state, you can also still get fucking fired in most of these states for getting married the day after the ceremony, lmao.
But realize, you can now sue if your job does that. You can sue for discrimination. And, let’s say, worse-case scenario, the court sides with your employer… then you appeal and it gets its way up to the Supreme Court…. well now that marriage equality has been declared a constituional right, they’d have to also say that your employer can’t fire you for excersizing a fundamental right like that (especially because they have no qualms when their straight employees get married). Basically, if any complanies actually do try to pull that, it’s only a matter of time until they get their asses in legal hot water for it.
Please don’t shit on this. While the struggle isn’t over (not by a long shot), please don’t be super negative about it. Like, this a big deal, don’t shit on it.
