i think a lot of people on here who trash marriage equality as “unimportant” need to realize that it isn’t just about having a big ol’ wedding. It’s about hospital visitation rights, child custody rights, spousal benefit rights…. i get that corporations have latched onto marriage equality as a “safe” lgbt rights issue, but marriage equality is about SO MUCH MORE than just “making it official”.
