i always worry that i’m annoying cashiers and receptionists and basically anybody who has to sit all day and do tedious work

Nope, we have to stay standing. Can’t even lean on the counter while waiting for customers to show up on a slow day. Privately owned shops usually have a chair or stool for the worker, but anything owned by a corporation, nope, gotta be on your feet the full shift. Because if you sit, you don’t look professional or some shit.
I’ve actually never had a job I’m allowed to sit down in.
I sit down on a stool by the register all the time. I usually stand up to help people though.
