“The Ride” by Rodolphe Guenoden

This is one of those short comic stories that just sticks with you for ages. First time I read it, was in volume two of Kazu Kibuishi’s Flight and I just remember thinking how brilliant it was in its simplicity, yet also how stunning the art was. 

When I saw it reblogged here, I couldn’t remember where I’d seen it before, but I knew I’d seen it. And that’s a testament to how much it stuck out for me. It became more than just another story from an anthology.
