“Cunt” is explicitly misogynist in any context. It is a word that turns female genitalia into an insult and something vile.

You’re aware “dick” is also an insult, right? This isn’t sexism, its just how insults work. 

Dick isn’t a slur. There’s a difference between insults and slurs. If women/females are telling you that a word is rooted in misogyny and oppression and is a slur, you, as a male/man, can’t say “but I know better than the people affected by the words”.

Hey, female here, and I know that dick is, in fact, a slur.
Just because Durkin is male doesn’t mean he’s not right, because he does know better than you, clearly.
Dick and cunt are literally the same “badness” in slur status because they’re both derogatory towards the genitalia. Aka, that’s how insults work.

The difference is someone who gets called a dick is labeled as mean spirited and inconsiderate, whereas someone who gets called a cunt is being is labeled as inferior and weak. There /is/ a difference in the usage of the terms, and the power dynamics between the person who is insulted and the person who insults. They’re not on the same level.

No, that’s exactly how the word cunt gets used too. They’re literally the same fucking thing. They’re both using someone’s genitals as in insult for somebody acting like an asshole. There is no fucking different “power dynamic”, you still just have an insulter and somebody who’s insulted. They’re the same god damn thing, you god damn hypocrite. 

Know what the only difference is? You, a woman hear the word cunt and loses her fucking mind. You want to ban the word, you want people to rally behind you and label the person who was mean to you as sexist and a misogynist. 

A man gets called a dick, you know what his response is? Telling you to fuck right the hell off. Takes matters into his own damn hands, doesn’t bitch or moan or need other people to back him up and support him. 

That word effects you more because you not only let it, but you fucking demand others make the word seem that way too. You had dozens of woman on here saying they use the word all the damn time and it has no hold over them. But nope, they’re wrong. They need to be offended by it because you are. 

Nothing just fucking screams “strong independant woman” like letting a word cripple you and then demanding other people do the same so you don’t feel like the weak link.

And since you all wanted to go down this route. For the audience, here’s how you tell the difference between somebody who’s actually victimized, and someone who’s playing the victim card for pity points. A victim would never go up to the people who are harming them, and go “hey, I know you’re trying to attack me and all. But this one word here, this is the word that hurts the most.” You’re literally telling people how to most effectively get under your skin. That’s not the action of a victim, that’s the action of someone expecting pity.

This is just somebody too butthurt about being called a cunt one too many times. Bet it has nothing to do with the fact you disregard people’s opinions because their males, and are trying to force people’s vocabulary to suit your whims, or being a blatant fucking hypocrite who supports double standards favoring herself. 

Nothing to do with you “being weak and inferior” its you acting like a fucking cunt.
