HOW ARE THE VIBRATIONS TURNED INTO MUSIC THAT YOU CAN HEAR???

Sound is just vibrations in the air. By making tiny grooves and having the needle vibrate at a certain way, it will make sound which then goes through the gramaphone which amplifies the sound to an audible level maybe? Or maybe it turns the vibration into electical waves and then into sound? Those are the only ways I can think.
