unless you downloaded the game off of PSN, then you see the second screen immediately

True, but then again it was at a time when games were actually known for being suspenceful
There are still games these days that are suspenseful, they just tend to be from indie developers. If you go out and look, you will find ones such as the FNAF series or Until Dawn.
