Listen

dapper-deoxys:

If an artist doesn’t want you to post their content on a website, don’t do it. If an artist doesn’t want you to continue using a design of a character, don’t do it. If an artist tells you to stop doing something with their works that makes them uncomfortable, don’t do it.

Always ask for permission. -but if an artist has already announced that they don’t want people to do stuff with the content they made, listen to them.

Don’t bring in any bullshit “public domain” or law into it. What is lawfully right isn’t always Morally right. If you have to bring law into your argument to support your shitty behaviour of disrespecting an artist’s wishes, that says a lot about how self-righteous and disrespectful you are.

Art is subjective. It’s different to everybody but what is most important is what it means to the artist themselves. You may see a piece of art or concept as B but the Artist may see it as A. There’s reasons behind why an artist doesn’t want you to post their content or do certain things with their content that sometimes even the artist themselves can’t explain, so please respect and support artists.
